Emma Turns SIX

I can't believe our rainbow baby is already six! It truly blows my mind. You are a joy to have in our family and you light up our days with your silly antics.

This year for your birthday, you asked for Roller Skates. You've actually gotten quite good on some hand-me-down ones from our friends, the Works!

You and Joy (your BFF from church) had a joint birthday this year since you were only born a day apart! The theme was a ladies' spa night, and what a blast it was...

Cary Turns FOUR

Cary Hope Wolfe. What a little nut you are. I can't even think of a word or string of words that sums you up. You are a complex ball of emotions--sweet, spicy, and stubborn.

This little rascal turned FOUR today! I can’t believe it. We spent the day at the pool and beach with her besties. She sang to herself all day yesterday and today and cried when she opened her present tonight because it wasn’t what she thought it was going to be (sigh).

She puts us on a roller coaster of emotions, but we’re thankful God has given us this little human to love, serve and train up.

Praying your heart is one day stirred to repentance sweet girl. And in the meantime, I’m glad I get a front row seat to watch you grow and mature. We love you!

We also celebrated with a pool party with friends from family group plus the Byrds and Rodeffers. We had cake pops and a Daniel Tiger mini cake. Such fun memories!!

Oh, and I can't forget the injury you got the same week of your fourth birthday. You hyperextended your knee on the Byrd's trampoline and didn't walk for 11 days! I finally took you to an orthopedic specialist at Shriner's Hospital for Children to get x-rays and make sure everything was ok. You developed a mean "scoot" over those 11 days. I'm just glad they're behind us. Happy Birthday, sweet girl!

House Extension Update, December 2021

Ok, so again these pictures are out of order, haha. Maybe next time I'll remember what order to select them in. Anyway, these first few pictures are just to show our use of the space even while it was incomplete. It has already been used to hold Cary's bday, Emma and Joy's bdays and to have friends over for lunch ;) We are thankful for all the stages!

Well, after we finally figured out how to make a temporary roof and got the tarp tight enough to keep the water out, we had the electrician come and install the can lights.

Nobody will understand the beauty of this makeshift roof except for me and Mike. Once we had the platform complete, we thought we could just add some Tyvek at a slant and call it a day. Except--have you ever heard the sound Tyvek makes in the wind? Yeah... it was bad. The night we put it up was exceptionally windy too! Long story short, we spent the afternoon putting it up, then the wee hours of the night (1-2am) ripping it all down. Ugh! Mike took the following day off of work and we reconfigured the makeshift roof to include plywood and a huge tarp instead. As you can see, it isn't the most beautiful set up, but it mostly kept the rain out. It leaked just a bit up at the top where it connected to the house, but Mike fixed it up the following day (in the rain). All in all, we had a few stressful days and nights, but finally by God's grace got it squared away!
